Baby when I see you...Smile

Since we have had Grady we have found that a majority of the pictures we take are with our phones because of convenience, and it is easier to text pictures to people than update the blog. However, Adam has discovered that he can send pictures from his phone via email and has really gotten some good ones.Grady really loves to smile...just not all the time. He only recently learned this trick about two weeks ago, and for the time being will only really smile for his mom. Adam has discovered two ways to get him to smile. One of those ways is to wait until right before he falls asleep when his eyes are really heavy. At that time, Adam will make faces and Grady will smile.

This picture is Adam's favorite!! He calls it the money maker. It is the biggest smile to date. Sadly enough it was happening as he was falling asleep and Adam was making faces.

The second way that Adam can get Grado (Grady + Blasto = Grado) to smile is by playing the binky game. When Grado is in a good mood, Adam will rip the binky out of Grado's mouth and then pretend to put it back in (doesn't sound like the funnest game on the planet, but Grady seems to like it). Adam can get away with a few smiles...but without fail this game ends in tears because Grado eventually wants the binky for real.

Still playing the binky game in this picture. Grado can really melt some hearts with this smile. He can also manipulate his parents fairly easily...flash a smile, give him twenty bucks...he's got the routine down. Grado's newest trick of the week is that his neck is almost strong enough to hold his head up. He needs a little support, but he is getting there. Crazy how fast they grow up. (Note: Please disregard Adam's crazy shorts. He says these shorts are the most comfortable things on the planet, but Camille will not allow him to wear them outside the house.)

Grady's now working on tummy time. Although, in this picture he is just being a dead fish. He hasn't quite caught onto the tummy time concept. Maybe with time. After about two minutes of tummy time, it becomes rage time. Grady will pitch a monster fit and start to thrash around and cry. While doing this, his body does the craziest things. At one point both legs and knees were off the ground. Maybe he will be our little gymnast (Adam shudders at the thought of Grady being a male gymnast. He is holding out hope for a basketball or football player).
We are finally getting past the fussy time period when he would just cry all the time. Actually, the real turning point was when we discovered he loves music. He has a little swing that plays the lamest songs ever. When he would cry none stop we decided to try everything, so we threw him in the swing with some music and instantly he stopped crying...However, it was the worst music ever. So, Adam would try to change the song and Grady would get super upset and start to cry even harder until we changed the song back. He has very specific tastes and one will pay the price for changing the song.
We broke out some shorts last week because it has been very hot in Wyoming. Grady is not the largest boy ever and when Adam came home for lunch one day he found Grady like this. His shorts are a tad big, and it shows off some leg. Note: Adam makes fun of Grady and his chicken legs. Camille gets very upset because she LOVES his little chicken legs. NOTE II: We often will walk into a room when he is sleeping and he will have one or both hands raised in the air...like in this photo.

"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!" Grady was ready to take on Ivan Drago in this picture. Shortly after this picture was taken Adam yelled, "Yo Adrian!"

Sorry I am really bad at checking blogs, but congrats on your little man. Hope you're having tons of fun and enough sleep.
