We are happy to announce that tax season is about to come to an end. We will get to be a family again. Tax season is very hard on our family because it takes Camille away so much. But, we appreciate all the hard work she does for our family. Meanwhile, Grady continues to grow up on us. He is no longer the little baby boy who crawls around. He does nothing but run, scream, and play. His current favorite thing (besides basketball of course) is golf, sticks, rocks, and generally being outside. Note: We were so busy for the past few months that we let his hair grow out. It is very curly and he is pretty dang cute. This pic was taken right after church. If you look closely you will see drool and spit all over his tie and a spot on his shirt from a marker.
Easter was a good time this year. We spent it with Camille's family. Grady felt it important to be stripped down to his diaper to paint eggs to show his Grandpa that he is manly...or his parents were smart enough to know he would be a destructive force and took preemptive measures.
The egg painting workshop. Grady only did a few eggs with water colors and a paint brush. He was more interested in playing with toys and Grandpa, so Adam, Camille, Jill and Nathan were left to paint the eggs. We had a blast and were quite creative.
This pic is not the best of our eggs, but included in our bunch were a basketball (for Grady), an old man, a BYU egg, a UW egg, a USU egg, a brain egg, and some nice eastery designs. Note: One egg volunteered his services and sacrificed himself to Grady. Note 2: Adam dropped the egg and cracked it so Grady ate it.
Of course Easter is not Easter unless there is some fancy new clothes to be worn. Grady got a new shirt, tie, and shoes. Shortly after getting dressed we thought it would be nice to get some photos. Grady cooperated by sticking his tongue out and acting like a goof. He is one funny dude.
Grady had to show off his new shoes. He was quite proud of them. They were a tad big and during church Grady decided to be rambunctious (i.e. naughty) and Adam took him out. Grady really just wanted to run in his new shoes. However, due to their large size he kept tripping and falling down. By the time we made it home he was covered in dirt, spit, and sweat.
After church (and a nap) we were ready to show off eggs and go on the big hunt. Grady picked out the Basketball egg as his favorite, and of course Adam had his BYU egg.
Hmmmm, on second thought, maybe it wasn't Adam who broke the sacrificial egg that Grady had to eat...
The fantastic egg hunt...The Easter Bunny was very good to all of us this year. The Bunny gave us picnic baskets, candy, and lots of fun stuff. Aunt Jill was hoping one of the eggs contained a shiny diamond ring from her boyfriend Nathan; however, that did not happen until a few days later. We are very happy to have Nathan coming into the family. Adam said it will be a bit weird to not be the only "in-law" in the Cartwright family.
How smart is that Easter Bunny? Smart enough to know that Grady needed more golf clubs and a golf hat. Luckily it was such a sunny day that we were able to be outside for most of it. Grady played golf all day and hasn't stopped talking about it since. Adam says he will be OK if Grady chooses golf over basketball as long as he is professional and makes millions of dollars...otherwise, it is the NBA.
Grady already has good form and the proper attire.
The Easter Bunny loot. Thanks for another wonderful year Easter Bunny!!!
