Disneyland

We were so lucky to be able to get away...by going to Disneyland. Camille was so excited that she could not sleep for the few nights before we left. However, on this particular trip we took over 300 photos. So, we will do our best to give a sampling of what we did...Phillips style.

Universal Studios

We were lucky to get to California early enough the first day to enjoy Universal Studios. Unfortunaltey for us, most of the park was destroyed by a fire last summer. Adam became so upset about not being able to enjoy most of the back lot tour that he became angry...and you wouldn't like him when he was angry...HULK SMASH!!!

The saddest part about going to the theme parks in California is waiting in lines. We actually had to wait in line to get a picture by Jaws. Adam really let it eat him up in the end.Another of Adam's true loves in life is playing Halo. He was giddy to see the Master Chief on display.

Disneyland

After our adventures in Hollywood, we made our way to the real reason we went to California...The Land. If you squint, you can see Camille shivering with excitment in the left corner next to the sign. Since there were so many pictures, we decided to split them into groups. So enjoy, and please keep all hands, feet, and other objects in the cart at all times.

Wardrobe

Those lucky Mice who have visited the Magic Kindgom know there are lots of hats and 3-D glasses to be worn; and those that know Adam, know he was in hog heaven by making enough faces and goofy remarks to last a lifetime. We will start with the 3-D glasses and make our way to hats.

While waiting 45 minutes to get on Toy Story, Adam was psyching himself up. Camille had been victorious two times previously in the shooting game. Adam could not let his wife beat him a third. He was primed and ready.

While watching A Bugs Life it became difficult to tell who was bugging who...Adam bugging Camille or the lines bugging Adam. While standing in line Adam continously made buzzing sounds and poked Camille while making the face below...watching Camille become annoyed...priceless.Adam was so taken with this hat that he was imagining himself being swept away by a prince on a white steed.

Could this be his prince on a white steed? Perhaps it is the female version of Peter Pan. Adam tried to get Camille to sing the song from Peter Pan, but she said "absolutley not!" So, Adam was forced to serenade her while doing a jig and wearing a Peter Pan hat. He was so convincing as Peter Pan that Disney actively recruited Adam for their parades and shows. But due to time contstraints we were unable to oblidge.

Food

One of the best parts of any vacation is eating. We were super spoiled this trip and really enjoyed pigging out. Our first night we went and ate at the Blue Bayou, which is the restaurant seen in the Bayou scene on Pirates of the Carribean. We know you are all so jealous, and you should be, it was super fun and had really good food.

At night it would get a bit cold, so instead of wearing sweat shirts, we just decided to get soup. They had fantastic chowder in a bread bowl. Camille was tempted to put on some mouse ears and officially model the soup for Disney, but at the last second decided to go in a different direction.Camille pigged out on pizza in fantasyland...who knew they had pizza in the future...go figure.Camille sucking down not one, but two ice cream cones...and next to an elephant. Only in Disneyland we guess. (Actually, one of the cones was Adam's)The best treat we found was the Pineapple floats at the stand outside the Tiki Room. This delightful treat can only be found in Hawaii and Disneyland. So, we made sure to get a few of them to make sure we enjoyed their originality.

Rides

The best part of Disneyland is of course the rides, and we made sure to go on all of them as many times as we could. We walked so much that Adam is still trying to recover by laying in bed and doing nothing...the wuss!!

While Adam was off driving above, Camille was getting some action from Mr. Toad. That Toad knows how to work it, gotta give him some credit.Adam tried for a good ten minutes to pull the sword out before Camille finally told him that the sword doesn't come out. As we were walking away, Adam gave it two more good pulls just to make sure. Our personal favorite is Pirates of the Carribean...we went on the ride like 15 times in the three days we were there. Don't mind Camille getting fresh with the skull...This is a terrible picture because it is a picture of a picture. We were on the Tower of Terror, and we couldn't pass up sharing Adam's reaction to falling. He is on the top right. Camille was much more stoic.Storybook land is a fun little ride where a whale jumps out and eats a little girl's head. This was an attempt to take a picture of the whale as we went into its mouth. Instead it turned out to look like the whale was eating the little girl. One of Camille's favorite rides is Splash Mountain. However, everytime we went on it we were sitting in the front. The first few times we got somewhat wet, however, the last time we went on it we had three heavier people in our log. Words cannot describe how wet we were, but these pictures can. Adam literally had two dry spots...his waistline and his arm pit.Adam had not been to Disneyland in over 15 years, and so had never been on Indiana Jones. He was very excited about the ride, but was more taken with all the neat stuff leading up to the actual ride. Note: Adam was not getting fresh with this skull.Adam was so happy to be going on Indiana Jones that he attempted a pole dance. His leg was even kicked up, but was out of frame. Too bad world...you missed one heck of a show.

Bizzare and other stuff

The last day of our Disneyland adventure it happened to be Goth Day. There were some of the weirdest dressed people on the planet. At one point a little boy who was standing in line next to us asked his mother, "Is it day of the dead or something!!?"

Do you recognize these three? One of our days we were walking around when we found ourselves literally 3 feet from the Jonas Brothers. They were taping a Christmas Day show for the Disney Channel Christmas Day Special. So look for a tall dude wearing a BYU hat, and his shorter wife who was crying and throwing her arms out to them. Note: We also saw Dennis Quaid with his family, but we decided not to take a picture of him.

The final picture of Disneyland was Camille with Adam...oops, Goofy. We had a great time and can't wait until we can make it back.

License, License...We don't need no stinking license!!

This week's big news is that Adam passed the bar exam and was sworn into the Wyoming State Bar in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He now has a license to kill, uh, we mean a license to practice law. Adam was fully expecting a good-game slap from Camille, but had to settle for a high-five because accountants are just like that. Despite the addition of Esquire to his name, we are still
looking into invitro fertilization for Adam - he so wants to be a mother.
Here is Adam in front of the Supreme Court Building. He was very proud and happy to be a Wyoming Lawyer. (Notice he is not wearing a cowboy hat, boots, guns, or a badge...he is a lame Wyoming lawyer)Adam strongly considered wearing black robes with a white wig to be sworn in, but opted for a brown suit. Here he is in front of the Supreme Court's bench.Camille's family was very supportive of Adam through law school and the bar exam. It was very nice to have them there. They too avoided giving good game slaps (must run in the family) and opted for hugs.
Adam's parents made the journey over to Cheyenne to watch their third son be sworn into the Wyoming Bar (Adam is the 4th lawyer in his family, his dad is also a lawyer).
It was a good day and we were so happy. Thanks to all of our family members that supported us through everything - you can expect your good-game slaps at the next family reunion.
