Idaho Getaway

A little while ago we went to Idaho Falls. Adam was very excited to be back in an area where he went to college (Ricks College in Rexburg). We drove around the town a bit and went to the mall. We couldn't resist stopping at the temple on the river because it is very pretty and it was such a nice day.

When Adam was going to Ricks, he and some of his friends (Annie, Nicole, Alyson, and Dave) would always go to a place called the Mongolian Grill. It was out by the mall, and to relive some of his glory days we went and had lunch there. It was still good as ever!! We tried to get a good picture of the guy while he cooked our food, and at one point he had turned and smiled, but we were not quick enough.

Adam really enjoyed his noodles. Camille was also very happy that Adam did not spill on his tie, which he does frequenly.

On the way home, we passed through a very beautiful part of Wyoming called Star Valley. It is a series of small towns in a scenic valley. The hub of the valley is Afton and they, like Jackson, have an antler arch. How could we pass up a photo opportunity like this!!?

It was a quick trip, but was fun to see where Adam used to hang around when he was at Ricks. It was also nice to get out for a bit before the summer ended. Way to go Idaho!!

Fishing trip with Uncle George

Adam's Uncle George and Aunt Joan visited from California this week (Sorry, Joan was too busy shopping to make it into any of the pictures). They come out once a year and we all love having them around. Usually all the women go shopping, while all the men go fishing. This year did not disappoint. Here is George catching one of the biggest fish of his life. It took him almost twenty minutes to play and was a monster of a Brown Trout.

During the fishing trip we had company. Daisy, the ranch owner's dog followed us every where we went and would jump in the river. It was a big pain because she would scare the fish, but it was kind of fun to have another fishing buddy along.
While jumping over the fence, and helping his Uncle over, Adam caught his arm. He said afterwards that it made him feel more like a man and that chicks dig scars.
In the middle of the week we all went up to the Flaming Gorge Lodge and stayed overnight and fished the Green River. Here is Adam's brother Geoff, Dad, and Uncle after eating dinner at the cafe.
Adam's other brother Eric, Dad, and Uncle went up stream one day while Geoff and Adam went down stream. There had been a fire a few years previous and the landscape was kind of an eery because it was burned up trees mixed with living trees.
After the trip was over, Eric had changed his clothes, but kept his cowboy hat on and proceeded to do a jig. We think he was trying to do some dance to entice more fish to take his flies, but failed on both accounts.

Adam's trip to Jackson, Wyoming

Adam had a chance to go to Jackson, Wyoming with his family two weekends ago (sorry, been a while since we posted). Camille could not get off work and was forced to stay home and be the bread winner, while Adam went and played, but Adam had a blast and really enjoyed being with his family.

The Tetons were spectacular and it was a very nice, sunny day. Some of the pictures that Adam took should be on post cards, maybe Adam should look into a new career.

When Adam was a boy his parents would take him and his brothers to Jackson for a family vacation. While there, the big thing was to get guns, with holsters, and a cowboy hat. They would run wild and thought they were real cowboys. So, to keep up with the tradition, Adam's nephews (even the niece got in the action with a pink gun) got guns, with holsters, and a hat.

Adam found his long lost relative in a store (refer to Adam's birthday post). They chatted it up for hours before a tearful farewell.

Happy Anniversary to US!!!

To start at the beginning. Camille and Adam met through some friends in Laramie, Wyoming. Camille hated Adam at first, and thought he was a loud mouthed arrogant jerk. Adam was totally smitten with Camille's beauty, but was cautious because of Camille's total hatred for him. Like a wart, Adam grew on Camille anyway, despite her hatred. After a few months, Adam finally convinced Camille to take a chance. Camille then fell victim to Adam's devilishly handsome looks, and at a rodeo in the University of Wyoming's Arena decided that Adam was the stud for her.

In June of 2005 Adam took Camille to Lagoon, where in the middle of the afternoon Adam (more like his sis in law, Jody) had arranged for a marching band to play "Love Shack." Adam then got down on one knee and presented the ring. As you can see from the picture below, Camille had no idea what was about to happen.

Yes, Adam and Camille were egnaged in front of the Wac-a-mole near the entrance of Lagoon. It was a great day, one which we will never forget.

On August 11th, 2005 we got married in the Salt Lake Temple. We were both very excited and happy to be married to each other. It was a great day, despite the fact that while Adam was goofing around stepped on Camille's dress and tore it.

If Camille had only known what she was about to get into, she probably would have run. Camille had a very difficult time getting Adam to smile or act serious in the pictures. Therefore, in almost every picture Camille is stunning, while Adam is goofing.

So, to celebrate this year's event, Adam surprised Camille with some flowers. Even Adam was surprised at how pretty they were (generally, Adam makes poor flower choices).

For a special dinner we went to a new steak house in Green River called JLT's. It was fantastic and had a wonderful atmosphere.
Adam was super excited because he ordere a huge steak. You can see the carnalistic desire for meat in his eyes.
Camille went with the girly stuff and got coconut shrimp. She said it was fantastic. Actually, Camille said she got the shrimp because we went to Hawaii on our Honeymoon and she would order that dish at almost every restaurant we went to.
After we ate, we went for a walk down by the railroad tracks in down town Green River (don't judge us!! Green River doesn't have much for romantic get aways). After a few years, we are still happy as two peas in a pod.

Happy Birthday Adam

It was a very special day this week for those of you who didn't know or who easily forgot...it was Adam's 30th birthday. He claims that when the clock struck midnight on July 29th a few more hairs fell off his head, his knees ached, and his back hurt...because he was getting so old.

To celebrate the big day we went with Adam's family to Rendezvous Beach at Bear Lake to play in the water, mess around in the sand, and eat a lot of good food. Adam had a great birthday. We really had a fun time and love going to Bear Lake.Adam's dad even sported a swim suit.Adam's sweet, little, new niece, wearing a bikini and chillin in a taxi floatie. Actually, she didn't really like the beach, but it didn't matter because she is so dang cute.The other niece and nephew LOVED playing in the sand and collecting sea shells (how Bear Lake has sea shells is a mystery to us). We concentrated our efforts and built "a pretty good castle that people wouldn't attack," according to Adam's nephew Dylan. Brookie was more into finding sea shells for her boyfriend, John (John is her married neighbor and is in his 30's)

As you can see, the castle is a pretty tough looking abode. Even the lion floatie in the background was intimidated and was turning away.Dylan's Aunt Aimei helped create a flag and decorate the tower. Do not be decieved by the white flag...it was put it with the intent to deter all pirates. After the castle was built all the kids thought it would be fun to bury Adam's legs in mud. Adam's niece, Brookie, thought Adam looked like the Sandman from Spiderman. Adam just thought it cooled his legs off from the hot sun.
They even added toe-nails (mini sea shells) to add to the effect. Very attractive, makes you almost want to chew one off!!
