Yo Momma!!

Mother's Day is a great day where we get to celebrate some of the best people in the world. This year we went to Camille's house to spend some time with her Mom, Grandma, and the rest of the Cartwright gang. It was a nice little trip and we enjoyed seeing everyone. Grady loved being spoiled. Adam's parents were in California and we didn't get to see them, but we called and sent our love to his mom. We both have some of the greatest mothers in the world. Note: Adam also included Camille in this list of "World's Greatest Mothers" what other mother would let an 11 month old boy feed himself? And continue to let the boy feed himself...sweet potatoes even. Notice in this picture he is telling the world that his mom is NUMBER #1!!
Adam had to get a close up so that everyone could see how caked on the baby food was. It took us over 20 minutes of scrubbing with wet wipes, a bath, and two days of wear and tear for the stains to fully be removed from his face. Note: If you look closely you can even see some Gerber's up his nose...at least that is what we are calling them.

Here is our clean boy...without a shirt. He decided to go all gangster with no shirt and his pants being bagged just enough to see his diaper. All he was missing was some bling and a headband with his hat sideways....maybe some tats. Adam is hoping this new gangster look will translate into Grady becoming a future NBA star. Grady's personality is really fun and LOUD...we wonder often where he gets it from, that is until his dad and him get together. Grady can now walk (more like a drunken sailor swagger), can say "Dad", "Mom", "lights", and "up". However, he does not say them often and more or less just runs around screaming incoherent words.

Adam came home early from work one Friday afternoon so we decided to work on his walking a bit more. The one major skill that Grady has developed is taking major headers into the carpet. Grady can wreck like the best of them. Usually he cries, but lately, if he doesn't get too hurt, he will laugh. In the past week and a half he has bonked his head a dozen times, leaving two prominent bruises on both sides of his forehead. Adam has been telling everyone that is where the horns come out.

There is one thing in the world that Grady loves more than anything, and that is his mother. Grady always wants his mom to be close...Dad is OK, but mom is tops at our house. We hope she had a great mother's day.

On a funny note, the other day we sent Grady to the sitter's fully dressed. While there Grady had a major blow out and covered his shirt and onesie with "Number 2". So, the sitter removed the clothing and just left his overalls on. Camille thought it was super cute, but when Adam saw Grady, he couldn't stop laughing and kept singing "Come on Eileen!" Note: "Come on Eileen" was a hit song in the 80's by Dexys Midnight Runners. Look up the video on YouTube and you will understand why Adam could only picture Grady doing a little jig.

This picture was really funny because as Camille was taking the photo, Grady was falling down. It turned out to be cute and funny at the same time...Note: The reason Grady was falling down is because Adam was supposed to be holding him up for the picture, but was in the process of singing "Come on Eileen" and doing a little jig.

Is it too late for Easter?

Well, true to form, we have been very slow at getting an update on our blog. Adam has been out of town every weekend since tax season ended, and Camille has been busy keeping Grady entertained. Easter was very fun for us. Adam's dad had some business in Jackson Hole and decided to invite the fam to spend Easter weekend with them at a giant house they had rented. It had a hot tub, giant kitchen, and enough rooms for everyone. It also had some big screen TVs where a lot of Michael Jackson's dance game for Wii was played. The greatest thing about being with Adam's family is that we were able to get some pictures with us together as a family, which is tough to do. We had the pic taken in front of the famous antler arches, but, unfortunately it was a little cold, so Grady was stuck in his blanket for most of the day. Note: Grady did not enjoy those special moments with his blanket. This picture makes us laugh every time we look at it. Grady is so happy to be out of his stroller and free from his cursed blanket!! He is also so proud of himself that he can walk around, which is quite evident in his face. Note: To your left you will notice cousin Max bundled up and checking Grady out. He has a giant frog hat, sucking on his thumb, and has his blanket...Cousin Max fell asleep shortly after this pic was taken, which was too bad because Grady LOVED his cousin. Grady loved him so much, he scratched his face off...sorry Cousin Max.

Of course when you are in Jackson the thing to do is go to all of the shops. In one shop we came across a large moose. Grady thought it was the funniest thing he had ever seen and got the giggles so bad when he would get close to it. Grady wanted nothing to do with the moose when we tried to get him to pet it. So, being the nicest parents in the world, we forced him to sit on the moose and pet him. You can see that he and Camille are laughing in this picture, but Grady was far from comfortable.

After sitting on the moose, Grady sprouted some antlers. Camille then became the uncomfortable one.

We were able to color eggs as a family. Adam's brothers and sisters generally LOVE to color eggs because they are very creative. They do an assortment of designs and faces, which are usually funny. However, once we got up there, we found that we didn't have any markers or good crayons to do designs. So, we just had to do colored eggs.
Grady on the other hand, was just happy to have something to chew on.Easter Sunday was a gorgeous day. We went to church and then came back to the rented house and had a traditional dinner (i.e. deviled eggs, ham, skittles, chocolate, you know, the works). We even were able to sneak in another family picture.

Grady was looking extra sharp in his Easter bow tie and rolled up sleeves. Adam was concerned when Camille said she said she loved getting Easter dresses and wanted Grady to have something similar. In Adam's mind he saw Grady in a dress with white gloves and bow...but he was OK with this Easter look.

On the way home we had to stop as we went over Togwotee Pass. If you look behind our car you will see a giant wall of snow. We measure it to be about 12-15 feet!! It has been snowing non-stop in the mountains. It was odd driving down the road because there were giant walls of snow on both sides. Camille is a meer speck!!
