Grady is 2

It is hard to believe that two years ago Grady came into our lives.  In some regards it has been the fastest two years, and in others it has taken an eternity.  Grady is a good boy.  At two he can now count to twenty, say his ABC's, and sing multiple primary songs complete with actions.  The one thing he has not lost a love of  is balls.
All of Grady's friends happen to be girls.  Not a bad position to be in.  We had them and their families all come over for a BBQ, cake, and presents.   Grady LOVES blowing out candles.  When we asked him what he wanted for his birthday he said candles and pink strawberry cake (remember, all his friends are girls, he had to be influenced a little).  Luckily he had parents buy him more than just candles and a pink cake.
A birthday for Grady would not be a birthday without a ball, and luckily for him Rick and Babes provided him with a multicolored basketball.  He was in heaven.
The first couple of gift openings took him a second to get the concept.  He wanted to play with every thing he opened.  By the third gift, he was ready to tear anything and everything open.
Nothing says awesome like Batman with a light saber!!  All the girls in the background were totally awe struck.  They just couldn't quite grasp the concept of boy toys.  So they just watched as Grady played with super heroes and balls.
We are lucky to have a lot of good friends that celebrated with us.  Note:  Once Grady got the batman mask he would not take it off.  He won't admit it is a Batman mask, instead he thinks it is a baseball helmet and will only wear it to either hit a baseball or play catcher.  Recently he has become obsessed with The Sandlot (thanks to Grammy).  He can recite lines from the movie and his favorite is to get a ball and mitt and say, "I'm going to throw you the heater!"  He then gets a serious face and throws the ball as hard as he can.  Grady takes sports very seriously.
Our friend Mitch declared he was Batman a number of times during the evening.  Grady quickly reprimanded him and told him "No. Baseball!!"
Grammy and Papa came through and gave Grady a tee and baseball set.  Grammy, Kate, Grady's closest friend, and Grady were then outside for almost two hours playing baseball.  The rest of us lounged around and pigged out.
A little tough to hit a baseball with your eyes closed, but he managed to do fine.  Baseball season is currently happening.  Adam says he can't wait for the fall so Grady will be into football again.  Adam has been practicing "Go Cougars" for months now with Grady.  But, someone keeps trying to get him to say "Go Cowboys".  Every once in a while he will through irrelevant things into the mix like "Go Hulk", "Go Aggies", "Go Papa", and "Go Grady, Greatest basketball player ever".  He clearly thinks highly of himself.
Some updates about Grady at 2.  His favorite foods are cheese, ham, and eggs.
He of course loves sports, mainly, basketball, football, baseball, tennis, soccer, and well, anything with a ball.
He loves to watch The Sandlot, "Buzz Woody" (the Toy Stories), Sesame Street, Cat in the Hat, and any sporting event that is on TV.
He knows all the words to Twinkle Twinkle, Popcorn Popping, ABC's, and the actions for the Cougar fight song (shocker!!)
He LOVES m&m's, pretzel fish, gummies are a must (fruit snacks), and granola bars.
His measurements are 27 lbs and 35.5 inches
Some funny things he says:
"I hold you" when wanting to be held.
"Mom, wha you doin?"
"Hulk smash", "Hulk scary", "Hulk nice" he has a love/hate relationship with hulk
"I do it" he is very independent.
"Wha-is-it" very inquisitive.
"Oh gosh!" this is a response to almost everything.
The first thing he says when he wakes up in the morning is "Mom, I done!" he follows that up with "Toons, mommy, I need toons.  I need toons in Daddy's bed."  He loves to watch cartoons in our bed with his dad in the morning.
He likes to do silly things and has a really annoying fake laugh.  He knows he is funny and loves to make others laugh.
Grady has a huge personality and loves to be silly. We love him more and more every day.
