All Adam has wanted for years and years is a flat screen television and some High Def for his veiwing pleasures. Was that too much to ask. Well for Camille and her frugal ways, it was. Each Christmas, Birthday, and Valentine's day (because Camille loves Adam) he would beg for a big TV. Well, this year Camille told Adam to do some research on a good TV and she would think about letting him buy it. After much pressure, some tears, and a ton of begging, Camille gave in and voila, a TV is now in our house. It was delivered a few days after Christmas and Adam couldn't wait to set it up.
Once we got the TV, Camille said our old entertainment center had to go. The former entertainment center was acutally found by Adam when he was in law school. Someone had thrown it out and it was sitting next to the dumpster. He and his old roommate ran out, grabbed it, and made it there own. When we got married, it somehow stuck around. Camille was ready for its death. So, we made a quick trip to IKEA, where we found a suitable replacement. The only problem...we had to put it together.
If any of you know Adam very well, you know he cannot do anything that would require manual labor or tools. He was very nervous, but Camille was there to give support, and tell him what to do.
Adam had to screw in 64 screws, and hammer in 24 nails. By the time he was closing in, he started to complain that his hand was hurting and he was getting blisters. So, he had to put on his work gloves. Camille thinks he was just trying to look a little more manly while doing manly things. However, sadly enough the next few days after this project Adam's muscles in his shoulders and hands were sore.
The finished product looks fantastic!! Adam was very happy about actually putting something together with only losing his temper twice, and not following the directions once. After we were done, Adam was also so surprised at how nice it looked compared to the old entertainment center he found at the dumpster. He said we are so much more classy now, and quickly asked if Camille would bring him some caviar because we are high class people. Camille told him to take out the garbage and quit whining about his hurting hands.

IKEA?? Where? Utah? I have been wishing lately that there was an Ikea close by (closer than Draper).
Nice TV.
New tvs are super fun! Ours was just 2 years old, but it was an inch too big for the cutout in our new house- so we got a new one for christmas and love love it!
y'all are hilarious! I'm glad you went with glass doors on the entertainment system because sooner than you think your baby boy will want to pull everything out of there! :)
High rollers. You are going to love that tv.
You should have called Cameron to come help you. He LOVES things like that. :)
We have the same entertainment center...you'll like it...but not as much as that Phat T.V...we're glad you splurged...enjoy being D.I.N.K.s while you can!!!
Welcome to the world of high definition. You will be forever changed. We have a very similar story. No wonder why Josh and Adam were such great mission companions, because they sound a lot alike (especially in the handyman area). You're going to love the upgrade. Ours started with my wanting a nice entertainment center, which made our 1985 TV look ridiculous, so we got a flat screen TV, then we HAD to get dish network and a Playstation3 to play blue ray. Now we're high def. snobs!
What a nice TV!!! Have fun enjoying it!
Adam, you look too much like your dad! Congratulations on your new future baby boy and your flat screen tv. I know you will enjoy both.
I've got it! It's the absolute PERFECT name! Zellmer. That way his initials would be ZAP. I already told my kids. They're on board with it.
And just for the record Blake had to put office furniture together from Ikea and I had never heard him swear so much!
