How much would a Rock chuck chuck?

We have been lucky in that this winter we have not had much snow. On Saturday it was particularly beautiful, and Camille's sister Jill and her "friend" Nathan came for a visit. We decided that we would try and show them some of the sites of the area, so we took them up to Sinks Canyon.
On the drive up there we stopped by a giant rock. Adam was going to climb it, but realized he is 30, and cannot climb things like he used to. Camille totally agreed and even made the assumption that, "If you climbed that rock, you would fall and get hurt." In turn, Adam said "perhaps if I could find a smaller rock, perhaps a pebble, I could climb it."

Adam couldn't find a smaller rock. Instead he found this rock. He attempted to climb it and only made it two feet up the side. Although, in this picture he looks more like a rock chuck. If you look closley you can see Adam's two front teeth...like a little rock chuck. Note: please disregard the outhouse over the shoulder of Adam...we know it makes the picture look like crap...hahah.Camille is doing her best in this picture to look like a mountain woman. When this picture was taken, Adam exclaimed that he thought he could have climbed the rock behind Camille...the small rock that is.Camille's Sister, Jill, and her "friend" Nathan were attempting to put on their happy faces on when posing with Camille in front of the Popo Agie River. If you look closley you'll notice that a rock is coming out of the sidewalk. On a previous trip, Camille did not realize that the rock was there, tripped on it, and ended up in the bushes. She is always trying to become one with nature. The Sinks is a river that flows underground and then re-emerges a half mile later. The cave where the river goes into is behind Adam. The ground was covered with ice and was very slippery. To protect everyone, Adam thought for a split second he was Superman, and began to tear away his shirt. However, all he had on was his BYU shirt. He saved no one, and almost fell three times. The cave was not very deep, but was very neat. The rock is made of Maddison Lime Stone and the river flows into small caverns underground. It then re-emerges. We only know this because there was a little speaker that told us about the formation. We are not that smart.
Camille was a happy little rock chuck. This is the sign were the river re-emerges. The river is called Popo Agie. We assumed that many of you are thinking that this is pronounced "poo poo Aggie." However, we assure you that this is not the fecal matter of the Utah State Mascot. The correct pronunciation is "P-oh P-oh zhah."
In this picture Camille is holding the fecal matter of the Utah State Mascot...ok, only kidding. She is actually holding some fish food. Where the river re-emerges is a giant pool. Fish get stuck in this pool, and over the years have grown to be MONSTERS. Sadly, they are protected and no one can fish.
If you look closley, the black figure near the rock is the monster fish. We were looking out over a cliff, which is about 30 feet above the fish.

Camille was ready to dive in with the fishes, but decided that feeding them would be enough. We are really lucky to live in such a beautiful place. If anyone wants to come and visit...we always have a free room and lots of rock chucks.

Camille's Birthday and V-Day

"This month is such a special one, it's birthday time for you!" A catchy little Primary tune, that Adam brags he can play on the piano, is actually appropriate because it was Camille's birthday on Feb. 13. Camille's parents made the long journey to see us. They were our first visitors, and so we treated them right by making them bring the birthday cake, and kicking them out of the house by 8...we are such hospitable hosts. (note: Camille's parents had to get back home and Adam is a terrible baker.)
The cake was Skor Cake, which causes many stomachs to sigh with hunger pangs. Camille's mom was an expert candle lighter, and Camille's Dad does what he does best...supervise.
The birthday girl was all smiles as she thought of a good wish moments before blowing out her candles. Adam kept yelling "A million dollars, wish for a million dollars!!"
Moments after blowing out her candles, the house was overrun with poltergeists...or, perhaps magic pixy dust, granting Camille her wishes...or perhaps, just smoke from her candles...you be the judge.
Adam has always been known for his crappy wrapping. At Christmas time, Camille's sister ofter refers to Adam as "Crappy Wrappy." This year, Adam did not dissappoint!! However, he did add a twist. Instead of a bow (because he couldn't find a ribbon) he took old wrapping paper and taped it to the top of the present. Shockingly, it looked almost proffessional...but, probably not.
After Camille's parents left Adam had a plan to surprise Camille for Valentines Day by showering her with gifts. Adam wanted Camille to wake up the next morning to a full display of material love. So, to do this, Adam devised a plan to play XBox until Camille went to bed. Usually Camille is out cold by 10:00pm. However, that night she was up until almost 1:30am, watching "John and Kate plus 8." Adam was so tired, but waited until Camille finally went to bed. With some help from Cupid, he then set up "Material love fest '09"
Every year Adam will give some candy and some super cheezy valentine gift. However, this year Adam decided to go a different route and had a theme. The elephant is holding a heart that says "I'm nuts about you." Therefore, everything on the table had somehting to do with nuts (it was mainly snack food for Camille's work). That Adam is such a brilliant husband.
After Camille had discovered Cupid's visit, Adam made her breakfast. Eggs, fresh from the farm, were cooked. Although, in this picture Adam looks a little eggcentric...oh man..that was a bad joke!! Perhaps, Adam should have just said "This is your brain...this is your brain on drugs..."
Camille's coworker is a straight up farm girl. Luckily for us, she offered to give us half a pig (and no, not Adam's lower half). She butchered the pork and we got all the meat. So Adam prepared some of the greatest tasting bacon ever.
That evening we had a nice romantic dinner where some shrimp were cooked. Some Alfredo was delicatley stirred. (note: Camille's flashy and festive finger nail polish)The table was set along with the mood. To help was some liquid courage...Martinellis. Adam says it is just carbonated apple juice...but it helps us mormons feel more romantic.
And for dessert was Adam in all of his glory!!!

Super Food for the Super Bowl

It is almost unamerican for an individual to not watch the Super Bowl...but, even more so to not eat to the point that you feel uncomfortable and are forced to wear sweat pants with some extra elasticity in the waste...draw string excluded!!

This year's festivities were made even more special by the fact that Adam was able to get a bunch of 3-D glasses for the halftime show. Unfortunately, the 3-D part was terribly lame, but Adam had a good time with the glasses. He said he was a superhero named Octovision Man, who had a signature superhero outfit and powers. His outfit was gray stretchy pants and his power was being able to eat large amounts of food with little to no regrets.

Camille almost looks like a cyborg with her glasses on. As she was cooking food many could hear her saying, "I am a robot!" Adam continues to look like Octovision Man.

Adam was out of costume, showing off the good food. Camille made Turkey Hot Pockets, a cheesey nacho type of dip, and brownies. Adam consumed all food that came into his path.

The Hot pockets in all their glory. After reading this, please wipe the drool away from your mouth.

We celebrated the Steelers' victory with some great friends, great food, and a great game.

Ski Wyoming

Saturday we decided that instead of hanging out inside all day we would venture into the great outdoors. Because there was snow in the forecast and also because it had been almost five years for either of us, we decided that skiing would be a great fit. Camille was interested to see what a Adam would look like on skis because generally he lacks balance when it comes to things like this. In her mind Camille could see Adam flailing his arms all over the place as he fell into a powdery demise. However, Adam proved her wrong and was a speed demon. In fact, towards the end of the day we had some people ask if Adam was actually Bode Miller.

The snow started just outside of Pinedale, Wy. and never seemed to stop. It was not cold, just snowy. While we were eating lunch, which is when this picture was taken, you could barely see the hill. Adam boasted that this is how his kind like it. Camille quickly responded by saying, "Your kind? You mean sasquatch?"

We were lucky enough to be joined by our good friends the Caseys. Jill Pickle, Camille's sister also made the trip, but failed to make this picture. Adam said he was attempting the Heisman pose, but Camille thinks he was falling down and attempting to knock everyone over. Let's just go with the Heisman pose.

After skiing all day, all Adam wanted to do was find a nice little ski bunny to cuddle up with. Luckily for him, he found Pippy Longstocking, who quickly obliged.

Camille and Jill, aka "the flying snow pickle," enjoyed a nice cup of hot cocoa during the lunch break. The flying snow pickle became frustrated with Adam on numerous occasions. These frustrations were not because of Adam's superior skill, but because he was speed would vary (translation...he was butt slow!!).

Adam and Steve came in for the lunch break. They were almost ten minutes behind the rest of the group. When they came in they said that Adam, being the speed demon he is, lost one ski while flying down a hill, did a full flip in the air, and landed in a few feet of powder. Adam had to dig himself out and crawl up the mountain to his other ski. You can tell by the picture how wet he is, and how red his face was. So much for being mistaken for Bode Miller...maybe he should have been mistaken for Sienna Miller instead.

The entire day we tried to think of a good nickname for Adam. Of course nothing could top the flying snow pickle, so we just left it at Adam. Maybe next time he will come up with a good one, unless others out there know of some good ski nicknames. (note: Adam would prefer snow stud, snow king, speed racer, or frosted lightning...but you know, whatever you want to suggest.)

Adam's Mom's Birthday

We were able to have a great new year's eve. We spent the time in Evanston with Adam's family and followed the tradition of going to downtown Evanston to watch the Disco ball drop and watch fireworks. Our intentions were to take lots of great pictures, but Adam and his brother dropped our camera this summer and it has never worked the same since. So, Santa got us a new one, and the new one had not been delivered yet. So, you get pictures of Adam's Mom's Birthday, which was a week after new years.

Adam's neice was a Ice Fairy Princess in this coat. Disregard the mischevious look in her eye and focus on her cute coat.
All the grandkids got into the Christmas spirit a little late as they played ROCK BAND. Seriously, it is the gift that keeps on giving. Hanky apperently was attempting to sing along to "Eye of the Tiger" while being accompanied by his big sister.Part of the festivities were the birthday hats. One of the grand daughters picked out the theme of the party. Hence, Tinker Bell made her second appearance of the holiday season. Adam was attempting to think happy thoughts in hopes that he could fly. He soon gave up and went and ate some more food.

Hanky also attempted to fly by thinking happy thoughts, but then began to explain that Captain Hook was not a nice guy and that the crocodile tried to eat him.

Happy Birthday to the best mom, mother-in-law, and grandma there is!!! We love you!!

Christmas 2008

We have decided to try and play some catch up since we have been without internet for sometime. We are actually still without internet, but Adam's work was so kind as to allow us to upload some pictures to our blog. We only had time to throw together a few pictures and they are in no particular order.

We had a great December. Adam enjoyed the month so much he has included the disclaimer saying that in the following pictures the camera added a couple hundred pounds. Camille decorated our house, Adam worked at his new job, and we spent a lot of time hanging out with family and doing what all the world did on Christmas day...what is that you might ask? Well, we did open presents, eat, and fill up on holiday cheer, but that is not what all the world did on Christmas day. What all the world did on Christmas day was play Rock Band. Adam's sister got the gift that kept on giving all day long. We played with Adam's brothers and sister for over 7 hours!! As you can see in the following picture Adam's face shows the stress and concentration.
Camille was a bit more relaxed while riding the steel horse. But looks can be deceiving. Don't mess with a chick wearing tinker bell PJ's and an ax!! Christmas morning was fun. This picture was taken well before the day of Rock Band began. We made quite the haul. Both Santa and our families were kind to us this year.

When Adam was a kid he and his brothers would listen to the Chipmunks Christmas and run, actually sprint, around with so much energy that they could not be contained. Not much has changed. Camille was barely able to contain Adam long enough for this picture to be taken. You can see Adam's rosy cheeks, which were a direct result from the house being to hot and Adam running around with excitement. Also take note of Adam's awesome PJ's. They have all the DC comic book characters, and are flashy to boot.

A couple of weeks before we enjoyed Christmas we had an ugly sweater party with some friends in our new hometown and at our new house. Adam's sweater was three sizes too big for him and was so ugly he nicknamed it "The Widowmaker"

Camille's ugly sweater may bring back many memories of women who lived in the 80's. All Camille was lacking was a good pair of shoulder pads and some big bangs. Maybe next year.

What is an ugly sweater party without a cheezy picture?
Camille worked hared on decorating our house this year. Adam was in and out and was mainly used for heavy manual labor. If you look closely you can see where we actually decked the halls with boughs of holly. Adam made sure to sing "fa ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra" the entire time (re: A Christmas story).
Many of the faithful readers of this blog were skeptical that our 15 foot christmas tree would actually fit into our house. In fact, we hear the comment by more than on of our readers that we were the common aged Griswalds. Well, behold, our Christmas tree fit with plenty room to spare. We only had to fight off one squirrel. Just kidding...No animals were harmed in the making of this blog entry.

Alive and Kicking

Just to let the blogging world know, we are still around and have had intentions to update our blog. However, we are still without internet at our house. Give us some time. We have a slew of pictures and fun stories for all. Stay tuned...
