We have been lucky in that this winter we have not had much snow. On Saturday it was particularly beautiful, and Camille's sister Jill and her "friend" Nathan came for a visit. We decided that we would try and show them some of the sites of the area, so we took them up to Sinks Canyon.
On the drive up there we stopped by a giant rock. Adam was going to climb it, but realized he is 30, and cannot climb things like he used to. Camille totally agreed and even made the assumption that, "If you climbed that rock, you would fall and get hurt." In turn, Adam said "perhaps if I could find a smaller rock, perhaps a pebble, I could climb it."

Adam couldn't find a smaller rock. Instead he found this rock. He attempted to climb it and only made it two feet up the side. Although, in this picture he looks more like a rock chuck. If you look closley you can see Adam's two front teeth...like a little rock chuck. Note: please disregard the outhouse over the shoulder of Adam...we know it makes the picture look like crap...hahah.

Camille is doing her best in this picture to look like a mountain woman. When this picture was taken, Adam exclaimed that he thought he could have climbed the rock behind Camille...the small rock that is.

Camille's Sister, Jill, and her "friend" Nathan were attempting to put on their happy faces on when posing with Camille in front of the Popo Agie River. If you look closley you'll notice that a rock is coming out of the sidewalk. On a previous trip, Camille did not realize that the rock was there, tripped on it, and ended up in the bushes. She is always trying to become one with nature.

The Sinks is a river that flows underground and then re-emerges a half mile later. The cave where the river goes into is behind Adam. The ground was covered with ice and was very slippery. To protect everyone, Adam thought for a split second he was Superman, and began to tear away his shirt. However, all he had on was his BYU shirt. He saved no one, and almost fell three times.

The cave was not very deep, but was very neat. The rock is made of Maddison Lime Stone and the river flows into small caverns underground. It then re-emerges. We only know this because there was a little speaker that told us about the formation. We are not that smart.

Camille was a happy little rock chuck.

This is the sign were the river re-emerges. The river is called Popo Agie. We assumed that many of you are thinking that this is pronounced "poo poo Aggie." However, we assure you that this is not the fecal matter of the Utah State Mascot. The correct pronunciation is "P-oh P-oh zhah."

In this picture Camille is holding the fecal matter of the Utah State Mascot...ok, only kidding. She is actually holding some fish food. Where the river re-emerges is a giant pool. Fish get stuck in this pool, and over the years have grown to be MONSTERS. Sadly, they are protected and no one can fish.

If you look closley, the black figure near the rock is the monster fish. We were looking out over a cliff, which is about 30 feet above the fish.

Camille was ready to dive in with the fishes, but decided that feeding them would be enough.

We are really lucky to live in such a beautiful place. If anyone wants to come and visit...we always have a free room and lots of rock chucks.
